About us

About Satellite Applications Catapult

The Satellite Applications Catapult is at the heart of the satellite services revolution, driving take-up of space technology and applications to shape, and sustain, the world of tomorrow. We’re driven by how our actions help the organisations we work with, both large and small, bring new services to market. By connecting industry and academia we get new research off the ground and into the market more quickly.

Our Values

Our values are our truth – what is most important to our team and our whole company.

  • They drive how we work with each other and with our customers and partners – they become visible through what we do and, most importantly – how we do it.
  • They help to set expectations, internally and externally.
  • They support our purpose, they feed our culture, they resonate through what we do.
  • They help us champion model behaviours, and hold ourselves to account when we fall short.

We Learn...and grow

We support each other, we embrace feedback and we share our experiences. We inspire with our knowledge and insights, and we treat our inevitable mistakes as opportunities to learn and improve.

We Connect...and engage with people and ideas

We are generous, inclusive and honest. We create trusting and respectful relationships which maximise opportunities for all. We take responsibility for our own success, and for delivering success for our partners.

We Care...for our people, our partners and our planet

We recognise our duty to meet the challenges of the future through the opportunities of space. We are thoughtful about where we focus, strive for sustainability and take responsibility for all our actions.

Our Vision

By 2035 space will be at the heart of business, society and the economy…. It already underpins much of the modern world but we’re only just beginning to realise its true possibilities.

Our planet will experience a multitude of space enabled benefits. In addition to connectivity everywhere and observations that help us manage our planet, new materials and medicines will be developed in space, ‘clean sustainable energy’ will be readily accessible, along with many more benefits. Capabilities will become super-charged, putting space within reach of every business and citizen.

This journey has already begun.

The Catapult Network's commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The Catapult Network has formalised its long-held commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I).  The CEOs of all nine Catapults came together in February 2022 at a special event held in the High Value Manufacturing Catapult’s MTC in Coventry to sign the shared Inclusivity in Innovation Charter.

The charter was signed by the CEOs of each of the nine Catapults as well as the CEOs from each of the seven centres that are a part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.

I’m really pleased to work for an organization that takes inclusion and diversity so seriously. It’s a real privilege to work for an employer that actually wants to shake things up and make a difference in this area."

Head of HR
