You’ve chosen a great time to consider joining the Satellite Applications Catapult.  As you may already know, it is an exciting time for the sector in general with the cost of launch falling, new exploration programmes being commissioned, and industry innovations like In-Orbit Servicing and Manufacturing making ambitious future programmes a reality.

The Catapult is in a fantastic position to help realise this future.  We have a team of smart, dedicated people who are well-connected and respected across the sector.  We’re well engaged with industry and are well supported by colleagues in government, particularly at Innovate UK and the UK Space Agency.

Our purpose is to unlock the UK’s potential to innovate and drive economic growth through the development and adoption of space data and technologies.  While exploration and space science get the headlines, the application of space to challenges on Earth will have the most significant impact.

To do this, we’re focussed on four bold missions that capture the opportunities and our planned impacts for the UK through to 2030.  The missions recognise the evolving opportunities encapsulated by:

• Inclusive, converged and sustainable connectivity
• Improved sustainability for a safe, just and thriving world
• Increased utility and effectiveness through innovations in autonomy
• Opportunities to operate beyond our Earth for innovative services and manufacturing, new space-based infrastructure, and greater sustainability in the space domain

We’re now looking to grow our C-Suite leadership team to help deliver this mission-based strategy and support our people in making a significant and positive impact.

If you’re interested in working with people using space to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges, then this is the right place.  If you’re already familiar with the sector, that’s great, but if you still need to, then don’t worry.  We have plenty of people in the Catapult who will help get you up to speed.
